I can't launch a Mia-Studio tool using a JRE 1.3 or 1.4

This is normal, since Mia-Studio requires a JRE 1.5 or higher

How do I change the license server referenced by Mia-Studio ?

If the license server changes, you will have to update each Mia client desktop to reference the new server :

  • Edit the file <Mia-Software product>\flexlm\mia_redirect.lic
  • Modify the line referencing the license server name
  • Save the modifications and launch Mia

Example of mia_redirect.lic :

#License parameters
SERVER myServer ANY
USE_SERVER

Message indicating a version problem

If you get an error message indicating that FLEXlm could not found a license matching the specified version, it means you tried to launch a Mia-Software product version that doesn't match the license you purchased.

For example, you can't use Mia-Generation 4.x with a license purchased for Mia-Generation 3.x.

Please contact our commercial team to update the licenses you purchased : contact@mia-software.com.

  • position yourself in the directory where Mia-installed Insight (eg C:\MiaSoftware\Essor_LU_3.2)
  • then go into the subdirectory ..\bin\Rise

Your problem is now settled.

Mia-Insight - Message "The server refuses the connection..."

This message indicates that Mia-Insight Discovery can not access the server database, ObjectStore. This may be symptomatic of a power network, or a problem on the server machine. To verify that the connection to that server is no longer available, proceed as follows:

  • Open a DOS prompt (Start - Run and enter cmd)
  • Enter the ossvrping command and then press Enter
  • If the following message appears: "Objectstore server on the host <Server_Name> is not available," it confirms that the connection is no longer available.

In this case, ask your system administrator to reset the connection.
